2009-08-08 - Sarah & Kevin - Christian Ceremony

After a quick flip of my memory cards & batteries from Friday night, I met up with Sarah and her mom at the Salon before the Christian ceremony on Saturday. Then it was down to the Crystal Lake Golf Club for the ceremony and reception. I think everyone in the wedding, guests and participants were all happy for the air conditioning inside the club house, it was a very warm day outside. At the end of two long days of ceremony and celebration, their reception dance was pumping more like a dance club than a wedding dance. I had a fun two days myself, tt was really a great experience for me to get to shoot a Christian and Hindu ceremony for one couple! I wish Sarah and Kevin a world of happiness in their marriage!

2009-08-07 - Sarah & Kevin - Hindu Ceremony

I come up for air as Lightroom chews on my CPU to catch up here. Two posts for two really cool people. Sarah & Kevin had a beautiful two day, cross-cultural wedding weekend. On Friday, at Kevin's family's house in Apple Valley, they had a ceremony celebrating the marriage in the Hindu tradition. This was really amazing for me to get to be part of, as it was an immediate throwback to my sister's wedding in 2005 wherein I first became aware of my interest in wedding photography. The ceremony was familiar, and yet there were many things new to me. I'm really happy I got the chance to do another Hindu ceremony, and hope that eventually I'll get to do more.

2009-08-01 - Kristina & Carvel

I guess it pays to read my own blog to realize when I missed putting up an entry! Kristina and Carvel were married August 1st, 2009 at a fabulous church in St. Paul. We stopped by one of my favorite sites, Lebanon Hills in Eagan (about 2 miles from my house) with the wedding party to do some outdoor shots, then off to one of the more fun receptions I've ever been to, as a photographer or a guest. The did their grand entrance to "Yakety Sax." Search for that phrase on YouTube and you'll get an idea of just how awesome their entrance was!

2009-07-24 - Teri & Dan - Engagement Session

After three weeks of no new sessions and clearing my backlog completely, it was very nice to get out and back into my element again: shooting couples. Teri and Dan are from Texas of all places, but getting married this fall here in yea olde Twin Cities. I'm always curious about how people meet, and I must say this is the first couple I've shot who met via World of Warcraft! Personally, I think that's totally fun! Our brief hour at Lake Harriet [not accidentally, where Dan proposed to Teri!] leaves me very excited for their big day. It'll be here before any of us realize it!

2009-06-27 - Priscilla & Jake

Pri and Jake - I have no idea how to even describe these guys. Fun loving doesn't even really seem to cover it. They're tons of fun and love to play along with any of my most ridiculous ideas. The only problem I had with this was the massive volume of photos I walked away from this wedding with, way too many of which were great, fun and funny, and frequently both. Since I have a background in math, here's an equation for you: wind + veil + camera = fun! Pri and Jake were the last wedding for me before my brief hiatus for the month of July. I'll be back in full force come August 1st.
